Freespace is an exploration of the relationships built between people and place, may they be urban, suburban or rural. It looks to inhabit the everyday space, the space that once was, and space that is constantly in between. The objective is to develop a network of sites, through partnerships with individuals and communities, to elucidates the vitality of peoples relationship with what is around them.
For Open Engagement, Freespace wishes to explore the shared or divergent connections that attendees have with their local communities. We are reaching out to students and faculty to collect these sites. Here is how you can be involved.
Locate a place that has meaning to you
Document that site using a photo
Write a short narrative about that site
Then upload that information at http://freespaceproject.org
We will present that information at the conference through a series of maps and events.
