Public Art and Justice, Fast and Slow

April 23, 2017
2:30pm  -  4:00pm
Theatre Lecture Hall

How can organizations that work in the public realm achieve social and economic justice for youth, people of color, immigrants, and others? Speakers from organizations in Minneapolis/St. Paul will share questions, approaches, and projects that take a variety of approaches to art, food systems, ecology, economic opportunity, and civic life. Public art and social practices that aim for deep system change require “slow,” sustained duration, while other “fast” approaches can make immediate impact.
