Mindfulness Meditation for Protest Situations

April 30, 2016
2:00pm  -  2:15pm
High Bay Gallery, Great Hall — Level 2

This audio work is a guided mindfulness meditation specifically targeting riot police and is designed to be played at protests and demonstrations. It is created with the premise that excessive police force and poor decision making are often the result of being immersed in a stressful situation and/or a lack of empathy. In the creation of the calming work, Packard Jennings consulted two psychologists and Lieutenant Richard Goerling, who trains other first responders in mindfulness. Available for free download from destructables.org, a D.I.Y. website of projects for protest and creative dissent.
