Amazonas Riverine Program

May 12, 2018
12:50  -  1:05
Main Atrium, First Floor, Queens Museum

The Amazonas Riverine Program seeks to foster an ecology of knowledges by collaborating with schools in the remote Brazilian Amazon, where communities are looking for alternative alliances as they resist mechanisms of control imposed on them in the name of development. The project initiators will discuss their collaboration with the Boas Novas School, where a communal kitchen was built with students and parents. The presentation will include a critical discussion of the chosen approach.
