Summit

Art and Education: Social and Public Art MFA Programs

Included in this years conference will be a summit on art and education. The summit features students and faculty from MFA programs focusing on public and social art, including OTIS College of Art and Design, Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), the University of California Santa Cruz, and the California College of the Arts.

Saturday, May 14th, 4:15-5:30pm
Shattuck Hall Annex*

Program representatives will deliver 15 minute presentations that focus on their approaches and philosophies, followed by a Q & A session. What role do students play? What are the politics of collaboration in your department? What experience is required since many undergraduate programs do not focus on Art + Social practice? What are core points of your curriculum?  How do students progress through your program?
