Open Engagement is a free public conference that will take place May 13-15, 2011 in Portland, Oregon.
All events are free of charge and open to the public.
REGISTRATION
There is no pre-registration. All events are first-come, first-serve until we reach capacity.
There will be a registration table/information booth every day of the conference. When you come sign in at the registration table you receive the conference catalogue, schedule, and any other relevant information.
Registration on each day will start at 9am at the Portland State University Art Building located at 2000 SW 5th Ave.
It is recommended that you check the registration area each day in case any changes have been made to the schedule.
TRANSPORTATION
Portland State University is located in downtown Portland. It is easily accessible by several bus, MAX train and streetcar routes. For more information on navigating public transportation in Portland, please visit www.trimet.org.
In addition to public transport, several bike shops have agreed to a set rental rate for conference participants: $25/day, $45/weekend, $60/week. This deal includes a bike, helmet, lights and lock unless otherwise noted.

ACCOMMODATIONS
If you are traveling from out of town and need accommodations during your stay, the Ace Hotel is supporting this year’s Open Engagement by offering 10% off of their normal room rates to conference attendees. The hotel shares a streetcar line and is within walking distance to PSU and other Portland attractions, including the Portland Art Museum and Powell’s Books.
