This two-hour long tour of Williamsburg highlights two main themes: Gentrification and Environmental Justice. Williamsburg offers an extreme example of both of these broader themes, and thus makes a very interesting case-study neighborhood in which to delve into these issues.
Starting Location: The southeast corner of Bedford Avenue and North 7th Street (across the street from the Dunkin Donuts in Williamsburg). Dan Kaminsky will be holding a sign that says “Social Justice Tours”.
Please try to arrive ten minutes before the tour starts. If you are:
5–15 minutes late: we will still be on the corner of Bedford Avenue and North 7th Street

30–45 minutes late: meet us on the corner of Roebling and North 11th Street
Ending location: Kent Avenue and North 6th Street.
The tour is ADA accessible. We will take a bathroom break one hour into the tour. Guests ideally should arrive having already used the restroom.
