Swale is an experiential and co-educational edible landscape on a barge that utilizes marine common law to circumvent public land laws in New York. A public space, people visit Swale to pick fresh, healthy perennial foods for free, strengthening stewardship and the commons.

Swale is not ADA accessible during high and low tide, but is ADA accessible with a ramp during other tides.
There is an available restroom at the Brooklyn Army Terminal.
Transit Information
The nearest subway is the N/Q/R/W Train to 59th St. in Brooklyn (not ADA accessible).
Follow 58th Street to the waterfront and signage will lead people to the pier.
Unfortunately, there is not an ADA accessible subway stop close by. The closest is R to Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn or the F to Church Ave in Brooklyn. From both locations, a bus can be taken to the Brooklyn Army Terminal.
