Party Out of Bounds: Crafting Queer Art Economies and Ways of (Night) Life

April 23, 2017
5:00pm  -  6:30pm
Gallery 400 Lecture Room

Using the witchcraft of alternative economies, the Chances Dances collective transforms the limitless energy and limited cash flow generated in the temporary utopia of the dance floor, and creates innovative platforms for queer activism, gender liberation, and contemporary art. We will trace our history of over ten years of developing a practice that straddles the worlds of art, nightlife and social justice, both within and without each field’s predominant institutional framework.
