Centering Community and Voices: Art Against Erasure and Displacement

May 13, 2018
3:00  -  4:30
Unisphere Gallery, Second Floor, Queens Museum

Members and collaborators from Manhattan Chinatown-based groups Chinatown Art Brigade and The W.O.W Project, in solidarity with other artists and organizers supporting anti-gentrification efforts across NYC, invite you to join them in a conversation on how we can build community and center the voices of local residents using creative practices and publicly accessible participatory art. How can we work together to address the racial, social, and economic inequities communities throughout NYC continue to face, such as gentrification and cultural erasure? And how can we use art to envision and build toward future solidarity and resilience? Come to learn and share with us.
